
If you enjoy being in the company of children and are eager to learn more about their care and development, a Modern Apprenticeship may well be the appropriate route for your career. Your basic academic achievement must evidence an ability to express yourself well, get on with adults and children, solve simple problems and use numbers in the course of your duties.

will scrutinise your form and may make contact within one week of its receipt, to gather more information before deciding to invite you to attend a screening formal interview.
You will find out within ten days of your initial screening interview whether or not you are a potential Modern Apprentice.
As a successful candidate, you will be invited, accompanied by a parent or guardian to meet with a range of accredited employers. This will take the form of an Open Day and give the opportunity to meet a number of employers who have expressed an interest in supporting and employing a Modern Apprentice. At this time you can discuss your individual requirements with a prospective employer. Employers will also benefit from choosing and appointing employees from a suitable range of potential employees. Future employers will always take up references and require the successful completion of an Enhanced Disclosure before appointing staff. It will be the responsibility of yourself, the Modern Apprentice and your employer to negotiate the terms of your employment. Aspects such as salary, hours and holidays, will vary from employer to employer and the Terms and Conditions of your employment are confidential to you and your employer.

As a new Modern Apprentice, you will undergo workplace induction and training by your employer to ensure that you develop skills and competencies to meet the standards and requirements of your own employer.

will have no liability for your contract of employment and will not get involved in any disputes. We will, however, make every effort to support the continuity of a Modern Apprenticeship where relationship difficulties arise.
At
we have designed innovative methods of achieving a Modern Apprenticeship in Children's Care Learning and Development. The entire process which consists of workplace training, experience and assessment and off the job training and assessment should take no longer than sixteen months for suitable trainees.
