Accredited Employers
The Children's House currently works in partnership with employers and owners of a number of Childcare settings who are committed to the development of excellence in their centres. Through the improvement of the quality of the workforce, such partnerships enable the experiences for the children in our care to reflect the highest standards.
By November 2010 all staff who are working in a Manager/Lead Practitioner role must have placed their names on the Scottish Social Services Council Register and have achieved the Standard for Childhood Practice by 2014. Thereafter the process will continue for Practitioners and Support Workers so that by 2015, all staff who work with young children, will be registered and qualified. From November 2010, it will be illegal for employers to employ or appoint persons who are not registered with Scottish Services Council and employers are required to make a commitment to actively ensure that their staff can and are achieving appropriate qualifications in order to meet the Standards for Childhood Practice.
In its development of programmes to support the achievement of the Standard for Childhood Practice, The Children's House will continue to form creative and innovative partnerships with employers to ensure robust and flexible achievement.
The Childrens House is most willing to work with employers who wish to enter into partnership to develop their employees through the deliverance of Nationally recognised qualifications and short courses or workshops to support Continuing Professional Development.
